Coega Master Plan

The Matrix...cc was part of a team responsible for the drafting of a Master Plan for the Coega Industrial Development Zone, East of the Coega River. The Matrix was responsible for Urban Design input into the project. The project area covered approximately 3 500 ha of industrial land located close to the coast and the new harbour of Nquga. The main approach to Port Elizabeth via the N2 cuts through the project area. Urban Design issues in the project include: Visual impact, integration of access, public transport and service nodes, human scale, recreational opportunities and heritage.
