Private Residence, Port Elizabeth 2015
A rejuvenation of an existing home for a prominent Advocate involved the complete removal of the old cedar chingle roof and being replaced with bitumen impregnated shingles to keep with the feel of the home. Colours used on the house were guided by a neutral palette with colour used in strategic areas, i.e. the chimney flues. New stainless steel chimney flues 'pots' at the apex of the red painted chimney's were installed as a noticeably modern crown fit for this old dame. The new stainless steel entrance gate contains hints of the old replaced gate in its design along with the Magna Carta written in braille to add a nice detail with respect to the owner's passionate love and deep involvement in the National Justice System.
